Alright, so Sarah & Aaron are hilarious. We have tons of pictures we can use for blackmail at some point if they win big on their honeymoon in Vegas! And their wedding party was phenomenal. It was all we could ask for from a photography standpoint. They had a blast most of the day and even when Aaron's shoes were killing him, he did a great job faking it (isn't that usually the bride's problem?) His mom tried to start forcefeeding us drinks as soon as they hit the party bus, and they didn't let us sneak out at the end without taking part in some of the festivities. Here are a few of our favorites so far. Also a big thanks to Kat for tagging along and helping us out. You made the day even more fun and the only thing better than being in two places at once is being in three. Let's hope the cards are falling their way in Vegas.
Matt and Michelle make such a beautiful couple! It was an honor to get to photograph this wedding filled with lots of laughter. There was a slight mishap during the ceremony involving note passing and I think I saw a sign being held up at the back at one point. Apparently just before walking down the aisle there was a slight wardrobe malfunction, but after a quick fix the ceremony went off without a hitch! Their groomsman, Casey gave a hysterical toast which involved dozens of men returning keys to Michelle and the Brenner's rocked it out with a fantastic first dance that made you think the two were on TLCs new show, "Rock the Reception"! All in all it was a good wedding, with the main objective accomplished, Matt and Michelle, MARRIED! Congrats!
Okay, so this little girl could not possibly get any cuter! I think for the first time in my life she made me want to trade in my almost black hair for some golden sun-catching locks! Grace is a four-year-old full of spunk! The Gillie family was so great to work with and it was a pleasure to get to talk old houses with Sam and Karen. We discovered that they had friends that used to live in our house and I finally uncovered the mystery of our HUGE front door, which I've given as a landmark several times when meeting clients at our home. Apparently a doctor lived in our house at some point and custom ordered an extra wide door so he could easily get patients in. Ya learn something new everyday! It was great fun, hope you enjoy the pictures, here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.
I had the pleasure of meeting the Salyer family this last Monday! What a cute little family they have with two sweet pups and an adorable 4-month-old daughter, little Leena. It was fun getting to meet Leena and to see her really enjoy the feel of grass for the first time. So thanks for letting me stop by- it was a fun shoot. Enjoy the sneak peak with a gallery to follow!
Emma and Greg are a hysterical, fun, fantastic couple! I had such a great time with them this last Sunday while we tried out a variety of new locations around the city. I discovered Emma will laugh hysterically if you direct Greg to nibble on her ear and that Greg is smell-blind?, which totally came in handy at the 3 Rivers festival where we had to walk past the infamous port a potty! These two are genuinely great couple and we can't wait to be part of their wedding celebration. Happy planning guys and we'll see you again soon!
Brandi and Gio had a grand celebration at the beautiful Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Arcola this last Saturday. It was a true family affair with an uncle setting off a spectacular fireworks display, an aunt serving up homemade jello-shooters, and some of the best pulled pork bbq Shane claims to have eaten here in the north! :) Brandi, Gio and the whole crew were an absolute pleasure to work with. Hope you two party as well in marriage as you did at your wedding! Enjoy a sneak peak including one of the roughest cake smashes we've seen!
Luke & Laura!
So I wanted to say a HUGE congratulations to my friends Laura and Curt! I got the chance to meet little Luke on Wednesday and man is he a cutie! He fell asleep while I was holding him and I have to admit there is something really nice about a brand new baby, all warm, cuddly and lookin' like a little old man. :) He really is a cutie pie! So CONGRATS Laura and Curt and WELCOME Luke. It was great fun to meet you and I'm sure I'll see plenty more of you!
These are from a quick shoot with Laura, Curt and the soon to be born, Luke. Laura works at The Journal Gazette and I remember being so relieved when she started working there! I was so glad to have another young photog to work with although I'm sure our energy and enthusiasm sometimes got us into trouble. Anyhow, she's an awesome photographer and an even better friend, thought I should post these since baby Luke finally made it into the world!
We had an awesome afternoon covering Mary & Matt's wedding at St. Pius in Indianapolis this past weekend. It was a beautiful day with a sky that almost perfectly matched the bridesmaids dress color. Matt was a gentleman - the strong, silent cowboy type, and Mary was elegant and beautiful in a dress designed by her mother. They were a great couple, very laid back, which made our job a pleasure. Here's a few sneak peeks until we can get the galleries up!
I got to take a relaxing drive in the country last week for a family/baby shoot in Woodburn. James was as cute as can be and the Van Zandts were easy going with a beautiful family and home! The most fun part of the shoot though, had to be the cake James got to tear into...for this organic baby it was a real treat, and seriously how guilty does he look crawling away from that cake! Ha ha. Anyhow, James turns 1 this month so, Happy Birthday James, enjoy the sneak peak and we'll get a full gallery up shortly.
I didn't realize I'd be shooting such a wide range of ages when Jackie contacted me to do a family shoot. This was a great group to work with, but definitely challenging with cousins ranging in age from 2-17! How fun to have pictures from when you were kids of you and all your cousins. Great idea Jackie! I'll be shooting Abby's senior pictures later this summer and can't wait. Should be loads of fun. So for now a quick peak at the shoot with full gallery to come. ENJOY the summer and put that yummy boat to good use!
